Activities
There are plenty of activities to do around Avondale, with a mixture of amazing walks just outside the door step, taking you through the forest or up to beautiful look at points such as Castle Hill and Godshill.
Local Pubs
The village itself has a freehold pub and serves food all day either in the restaurant or in the garden. Names the Horse & Groom. There are plenty of other local pubs within a 5-10 minute drive also, including The Goat in Downton, The Three Lions and The fighting Cocks.
Village Shop
The village shop is community run and offers a wide selection of local produce, all the basics, BBQ ready meats, wine and much more.
All the major supermarkets regularly deliver to Woodgreen so you can book your groceries to arrive just after you.
If you prefer to shop and don’t want the walk to the village shop, then Fordingbridge is a 5 minute drive and has a good sized Co-op and Tesco express.
Local Beaches
Our closest beach is Avon beach near Mudeford, 14 miles from Avondale and approximately a 25 minute drive. Boscombe and Bournemouth beaches are a 17 mile drive approximately 30 minutes
